"Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. Everything passes away except God." -St. Teresa of Ávila
Lots has changed over the past two years and I feel like I haven't had a chance to catch up with it all, or with myself. Lots is still changing, so as I figure things out, more is added to my list of things to get used to or to deal with.
That's what happens when you go through that transition from teenager to adult, I guess. It's like puberty 2.0. When I graduated high school, I didn't know so much growing was going to have to happen.
But as overwhelming as it can be, I am glad for it. I know Christ is in this.
No matter who comes or goes in my life, Christ is walking with me.
No matter where I end up, Christ is walking with me.
No matter what I do, Christ is walking with me.
He never gets tired of His children. He doesn't get sick of us. He sticks with us, through thick and thin- the only constant.
Most of the time, I don't know what my purpose in life is. But then I remember St. Thérèse's personal epiphany: "My vocation is to love!"
We can't change the past. We can't control the future. All we have is this one moment, steeped in the love and peace of Christ and His perfect plan for us.
All He is asking of us right now is to give our yes to love.
The rest will pass away.
